Snake 2: bonus creatures, labyrinths and going through the walls
The 3310, 3410 and 7110 modes in Snake '97 play the sequel, with everything that made it different.
What Snake 2 changed
- Through the walls. The border is open: leave the screen on the
left, reappear on the right. Half the strategy of Snake 2 is using this.
- Bonus creatures. They appear for a limited time and are worth
extra points, but chasing one across the field is how most runs end.
- Labyrinths. Five originals and two extras: walls inside the field
that turn a calm sweep into route planning.
- A chunkier snake. The bigger sprites of the later phones, still
pure dot-matrix.
How to switch to Snake 2
Open the settings (the gear key) and pick the 3310, 3410 or 7110 model. Pick a labyrinth
in the same screen. The 5110, 3210, 8210 and 8850 models play the original Snake 1.
One tactical note
Bonus creatures are a risk-for-points trade. Take the detour early in a run when your
snake is short; late in a run, let them go. The through-the-wall exits are your emergency
escape: keep one lined up.
